Abstract:Objective To analyze the application effect of comprehensive nursing in elderly patients with diabetes mellitus(DM).Methods Eighty-eight elderly diabetes patients with nocturnal hypoglycemia admitted to our hospital from July 2016 to July 2017 were selected and divided into control group and observation group with 44 cases in each group by random number table method. The patients in the control group was received routine nursing.Based on this, the patients in the observation group was given comprehensive nursing, and the nursing effect of the two groups was analyzed. Results The incidence of hypoglycemia in the observation group was 4.55% (2/44)at night, which was lower than(18.18% [8/44])in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.062,P<0.05).The quality of life score of the patients in the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The mastery rate of the total health knowledge of the patients in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Comprehensive nursing for elderly DM patients has a good effect on their night-time blood glucose control, which is beneficial to the improvement of their quality of life and health knowledge acquisition rate.
