Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of total knee arthroplasty(TKA)and unicompartment knee arthroplasty (UKA)in treating knee joint medial unicompartmental osteoarthritis. Methods From November 2015 to July 2016,80 patients with osteoarthritis of the knee in our hospital were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups,40 patients in the control group were treated with TKA,and 40 patients in the observation group were treated with UKA,and the clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared. Results The operation time and the first straight leg raised time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, and the amount of bleeding during the operation of the observation group were lesser than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The VAS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group first days after the operation, and the length of the incision was shorter, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After 3 months of treatment, there was no significant difference in the VAS score and the Lysholm score in the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Both TKA and UKA are important means for the treatment of medial unilateral osteoarthritis of the knee, with the same efficacy, but the latter has advantages of less trauma and faster recovery, and is worthy of promotion.
