Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical effect of traditional Chinese massage in the adjunctive treatment of degenerative osteoarthritis.Methods 70 degenerative osteoarthritis patients from June 2013 to November 2015 in our hospital were selected and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group，and each group was 35 cases.The control group was given routine rehabilitation treatment，the observation group was given traditional Chinese massage adjunctive treatment on the basis of the control group.Both of two groups were treated for 4 weeks.The changes of knee joint HSS score and SF-36 life quality score in the two groups before and after treatment was compared.Results The score of pain，knee function，knee activity，knee flexion deformity，knee stability，muscle strength and HSS after treatment in the two groups was higher than that before treatment，with significant difference （P＜0.05）.The score of pain，knee function，knee activity，knee stability，muscle strength and HSS after treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group，with significant difference （P＜0.05）.There was no significant difference in the score of knee flexion deformity between the two groups（P＞0.05）.The score of physiological function，physiological competency，physical pain，social function，mental health，emotional function，vitality and general health status of the two groups after treatment was higher than that before treatment，with significant difference （P＜0.01）.The score of physical function，physical pain and mental health of the observation group was higher than that of the control group after treatment，with significant difference （P＜0.01）.Conclusion Traditional Chinese massage adjunctive treatment can obvious improve the knee joint function of degenerative osteoarthritis patients，enhance the life quality of patients，it is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
