Abstract：Objective To compare the preventive effect of SDIConseal and Eco-s pit and fissure sealant for caries in children. Methods 200 children （463 permanent teeth）aged 7 to 9 in the department from January 2014 to December 2015 were selected to perform sealant technique on their firstmolars and randomly divided into two groups，firstmolar in trial group wassealed with SDIConseal sealant and in control group was sealed with Eco-s sealant.Sealant retention rate and caries prevalence were observed follow-up for 6 months to 2-years.Results At 6 months follow-up，there was no statistical difference in sealant retention rate between two groups（P＞0.05），at 1 year and 2 years follow-up，the retention rate in the trial group were significantly higher than those in the control group（P＜0.05）.However，caries prevalence in the trial group were significantly lower than those in the control group at 1 and 2 years follow-up （1.3%vs 2.6%，3.0%vs 4.3%），the difference was statistically significant（P＜0.05）.Conclusion SDIConseal sealant is superior to Eco-s sealant to prevent caries in children.
