Abstract:Objective To explore the advantages of themodified lateral episiotomy in the application of primipara with vaginal delivery. Methods 100 primipara with vaginal delivery from January 2013 to December 2015 in our hospital were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,50 cases in each group. The control group was given the traditional lateral episiotomy, and the observation group was given themodified lateral episiotomy. The incision suture time, the amount of bleeding during operation, hospital stay, pain score, incision healing grade and the incidence rate of complication was compared between the two groups. Results The incision suture time, postpartum hospital stay in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, the amount of bleeding during operation in the observation group was less than that in the control group, the pain score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with significant difference (P<0.05).The incision healing situation A in the observation group was better than that in the control group, with significant difference (P<0.05).The incidence rate of complication of the observation group wa lower than that of the control group, with significant difference(χ2=0.891,P=0.027).Conclusion In the process of vaginal delivery of primipara, the implementation ofmodified lateral episiotomy can shorten the incision suture time of patients, reduce the incidence of postpartum pain, reduce the incidence of complications, and promote postpartum wound healing.
