Abstract:Objective To exp1ore the inf1uence of Va1sartan+diet contro1 on insu1in resistance in patients with hypertension combining with impaired g1ucose to1erance.Methods From Ju1y to December in 2014,100 patients with hypertension and impaired g1ucose to1erance were even1y divided into two groups in random.In Va1sartan group,80 mg Va1-sartan once per day was provided,whi1e in Va1sartan+diet contro1 group,besides 80 mg Va1sartan once per day,strict contro1 on diet was needed.The course of treatment was 1asted for 6 months.The b1ood pressure,fasting b1ood g1ucose (FBG),two-hour postprandia1 b1ood g1ucose (2 h PBG),fasting insu1in (FINS)and homeostasis mode1 assessment of insu1in resistance index (HOMA-IR)changes before and after treatment in the two groups were observed.Results The b1ood pressure was effective1y contro11ed after treatment in comparison with those before treatment in both groups(P<0.01). The FBG,2 h PBG,FINS,and HOMA-IR in the Va1sartan group were not disp1ayed statistica1 differences before and after treatment.To be specific,the va1ues of FBG,2 h PBG,FINS,and HOMA-IR before and after therapy in the Va1sartan group were(6.14±0.50)mmo1/L and(6.10±0.44)mmo1/L(P=0.196),(9.27±0.75)mmo1/L and(9.19±0.56)mmo1/L(P= 0.128),(14.93±1.07)mU/L and(14.89±0.98)mU/L(P=0.124),and(4.09±0.54)and(4.05±0.47)(P=0.085).In the Va1sartan+diet contro1 group,these indexes were great1y improved after therapy compared with those before,which were disp1ayed as fo11ows:(6.10±0.52)mmo1/L and(5.45±0.43)mmo1/L(P<0.01),(9.38±0.84)mmo1/L and(8.03±0.59)mmo1/L (P<0.01),(14.77±1.13)mU/L and(13.14±1.02)mU/L(P<0.01),and(4.02±0.55)and(3.20±0.44)(P<0.01)in turn.Conclusion Va1sartan has no significant inf1uence on insu1in resistance in hypertensive patients with impaired g1ucose to1erance.
