Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the effect of canalith repositioning procedure(CRP)in treating benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(BPPV)and the improvement of life quality before and after CRP.Methods75 BPPV patients from July 2014 to June 2016 were selected and treated with CRP and the effect was evaluated after treatment for 1 month and 3 months. The score of dizziness handicap inventory(DHI)and University of California at Los Angeles dizziness questionnaire(UCLA-DQ)in Chinese version were filled out and analyzed before treatment and after treatment for 3 months.Results1 month after first CRP,the total effective rate was 90.67%,3 months after first CRP,the total effective rate was 89.33%,and there was no significant difference (P>0.05).Before CRP and 3 months after first CRP,both of DHI score and UCLA-DQ score had statistical significance (P<0.05).Among 52 patients who evaluated as cured, there were 13.46%patients who still had recurrent vertigo.ConclusionCRP in treating BPPV has obvious effect, with high cure rate and obvious improve life quality, but some patients still need further treatment to cure the vertigo.
