Objective To explore the relationship between acute ischemic stroke with intracranial/extracranial atherosclerotic stenosis and alkaline phosphatase (ALP).Methods Patients with acute schemic stroke admitted to the Department of Neurology, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from January to June 2020 were enrolled retrospectively.According to the head and neck computed tomography angiography (CTA) examination, those with a stenosis rate of intracranial/extracranial arteries ≥50% were classified as the stenosis group (intracranial/extracranial atherosclerotic stenosis), and those with a stenosis rate <50% or without vascular stenosis were classified as the control group (non-cerebral atherosclerosis stenosis). The demographic data and baseline clinical data were collected, and the correlation between different alkaline phosphatase levels and the incidence of intracranial/extracranial atherosclerotic stenosis was analyzed. The multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of intracranial/extracranial atherosclerosis in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Results A total of 163 patients were enrolled, including 72 cases in the stenosis group, 91 cases in the control group. The age, incidence of diabetes,ALP, fasting blood glucose, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels of the stenosis group were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).With the increase of serum ALP level, the incidence of intracranial/extracranial atherosclerotic stenosis gradually increased (P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis indicated that serum ALP level was one of the risk factors for intracranial/extracranial atherosclerotic stenosis in ischemic stroke patients (OR=1.024, 95%CI: 1.009-1.039, P=0.002).Conclusion The serum ALP level is associated with intracranial/extracranial atherosclerotic stenosis in patients with ischemic stroke, and ALP can reflect the degree of intracranial/extracranial atherosclerotic stenosis to some extent.
