Objective To explore the influence of empowerment guidance on the care ability of family caregivers of long-term hospitalized stroke patients.Methods A total of 80 cases family caregivers of stroke patients in the Seventh People′s Hospital of Nanhai District,Foshan City from June to December 2019 were selected and divided into two groups according to random number table method,40 cases in each group.The control group was given routine nursing,while the observation group was given empowerment guidance on the basis of the control group.The care readiness and care ability of the two groups were compared.Results There was no significant difference between the two groups before intervention in caregiver preparedness scale (CPS) score (P>0.05).After 3 months of intervention,the CPS score of the observation group was (22.36±4.37) points,which was higher than that of the control group of (18.22±3.79) points,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the score of family caregiver task inventory (FCTI) between the two groups before intervention (P>0.05);after 3 months of intervention,the observation group scores were (2.24±0.71) points in response and assistance,(2.08±0.87) points in adapting to care roles,(1.24±0.55) points in dealing with personal emotions,(1.18±0.35) points in adjusting life to meet care needs,and evaluating family and community The score of resource was (1.38±0.42) points,lower than those of the control group of (2.65±1.02),(3.30±1.04),(2.26±1.08),(1.71±0.47),(1.98±0.71) points,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Empowerment guidance applied to family caregivers of long-term hospitalized stroke patients has positive significance to improve their care preparation and care ability,and can be widely used.
