Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of platelet-rich plasma combined with knee arthroscopy on pain and functional rehabilitation of patients with knee osteoarthritis. Methods A total of 84 patients with knee osteoarthritis admitted to Ganzhou People′s Hospital and the Second People′s Hospital of Ningdu County from January 2018 to December 2019 were selected as the research subjects and divided into the experimental group (42 cases) and the control group(42 cases) according to random number table method. The experimental group was treated with platelet-rich plasma injection combined with knee arthroscopic surgery, and the control group was treated with single knee arthroscopic surgery. The function of knee joint function, pain degree, synovial fluid cytokine level and adverse reactions after operation were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in visual analogue scale(VAS) scores, Lysholm scores, synovial fluid tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) between the two groups before operation (P>0.05). Six months after operation, the VAS scores, synovial fluid TNF-α and IL-1β levels in the two groups were lower than those before the operation, and the Lysholm scores of the two groups were higher than those before the operation, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Six months after operation, the Lysholm score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, and the VAS score, synovial fluid TNF-α and IL-1β levels were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no adverse reactions during or after operation in the two groups. Conclusion Platelet-rich plasma combined with knee arthroscopic surgery for knee osteoarthritis could reduce inflammation, relieve pain, improve knee joint function, with good safety.
