Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Zhuang medical thread moxibustion in the treatment of vascular dementia. Methods A total of 60 patients with vascular dementia who treated in our hospital from February 2016 to July 2016 were selected as subjects. The patients were divided into treatment group (30 cases) and control group(30 cases) on the basis of random number table method. Patients in the treatment group were treated with Zhuang medical thread moxibustion on the basic treatment, while the patients in the control group were treated with Piracetam Tablets, 30 days were a course of treatment. The treatment effect, score changes of mini mental state examination(MMSE), the Barthel index of ADL (Barthel) and the National Institutes of Health stroke scale (NIHSS) of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the score of MMSE in the treatment group was 86.67% after treatment, which was higher than 63.33% of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the score of NIHSS in the treatment group (90.00%) was higher than that in the control group(66.67%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the MMSE and Barthel scores of the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the NIHSS scores were lower than those before treatment, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of MMSE and Barthel in the treatment group were higher than those of the control group, while NIHSS score was lower than that of the control group, with significant differences(P<0.05). Conclusion Zhuang medical thread moxibustion can effectively improve the cognitive function and behavior ability of patients and reduce neurological deficit. It is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
