Abstract:Objective To explore the application of thyroxine in patients with pregnancy complicated with hypothyroidism. Methods A total of 96 patients with pregnancy complicated with hypothyroidism who were treated in our hospital from August 2017 to July 2019 were selected. They were divided into the control group and the study group according to the digital parity method, 48 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional iodine supplementation, while the study group was given thyroxine. The thyroid hormone level, progesterone level, and maternal and child outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in serum thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) level, free thyroid hormone (FT4) level, and free triodothyronine (FT3) level between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05).After treatment, the TSH level in the study group was lower than that in the control group, the FT4 and FT3 levels in the study group were higher than those in the control group, with statistical differences (P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the progesterone level between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05).The progesterone level in the study group was higher than that in the control group after treatment, with statistical difference (P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) level between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05).The hs-CRP level in the study group was lower than that in the control group after treatment, with statistical difference (P<0.05).The total incidence of complications, such as gestational hypertension, intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, and fetal distress, in the study group was lower than that in the control group, with statistical difference (P<0.05).The incidences of preeclampsia, early abortion and fetal malformation in the study group were lower than those in the control group, with statistical differences (P<0.05).The weight of newborns in the study group was higher than that in the control group, with statistical difference (P<0.05).Conclusion Thyroxine can improve thyroid hormone and elevate progesterone level in patients with pregnancy complicated with hypothyroidism. It can also improve maternal and infant outcomes, with significant clinical value.
