Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of the national metabolic management center (MMC) model in patients with diabetic retinopathy (DR). Methods A total of 126 patients with DR who were admitted to our hospital from August 2018 to August 2019 were selected as research objects. They were divided into observation group and control group according to the random number table method, with 63 cases in each group. Patients in the control group used the traditional intervention mode, and patients in the observation group added the MMC model on the basis of the control group. The self-management ability and levels of blood glucose indicators (fasting plasma glucose [FPG], 2 hours postprandial blood glucose [2 h PBG], and glycated hemoglobin [HbA1c]) before and after intervention in two groups of patients were compared. Results The compliance rates of blood glucose monitoring, DR knowledge, diet control, regular exercise, foot care, and compliance with the medicines in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (χ2=5.143, 4.881, 4.203, 4.148, 4.476, 4.805, P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the levels of FPG, 2 h PBG, HbA1c before intervention between the two groups of patients (t=0.093, 0.195, 0.603, P>0.05). The levels of FPG, 2 h PBG, and HbA1c after intervention in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (t=9.390, 10.833,6.968, P<0.05). Conclusion Based on MMC model can improve self-management ability of patients and it is beneficial to blood glucose control.
