Abstract:Objective To analyze the feasibility of transurethral plasmakinetic resection of prostate (TUPKP) treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and its influence on the quality of life of patients. Methods A total of 57 patients with BPH who came to our hospital from January 2016 to January 2018 were selected as research objects and divided into the experimental group with 27 cases and the control group with 30 cases by random number table method. The experimental group was treated by TUPKP. The control group was treated with traditional transurethral resection of prostate (TURP). The changes of operation time, intraoperative blood loss, indwelling catheter time, hospitalization time, international prostate symptom score (IPSS), quality of life (QOL) score, maximum urinary flow rate (QMAX), total complication incidence rate and so on were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time of the experimental group was shorter than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), the amount of bleeding in the experimental group was less than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). There were no significant differences in indwelling catheter time, hospitalization time, IPSS, QOL scores and QMAX between the two groups before and one month after operation (P>0.05). The total incidence of complications in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion TUPKP is effective in the treatment of BPH, especially in improving the quality of life of patients.
