Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of performance management in operating room nursing management. Methods From June to September 2016,the performance evaluation team was set up in operating room of our hospital to formulate performance scoring standards.Based on the principle of more pains and more gains, and great salary with excellent work, the nursing staff were divided into five levels of N0-N4.The coefficient of the difference of the levels was calculated according to the hospital′s standard coefficient of 0.06.Total performance bonus=performance time bonus(70%)+performance score bonus(30%).The surgical time of performance was personal work time ×grading coefficient. The basic score of performance evaluation was 100 points including medical ethics(8 points),labor discipline(12 points),work attitude(35 points),work skills(40 points),teaching and learning(5 points).Items of points adding and reducing were also created. The total performance bonus equals to the final total score×performance coefficient. The theoretical and operational assessment results on these staff before and 3-month after the performance management, the work quality score, the satisfaction of the nursing staff on the performance bonus, the satisfaction scores from surgeons and patients were compared. Results After the implementation of the performance management program, the theoretical and operational assessment scores, work quality assessment and satisfaction scores of the department staff were all higher than those before with statistical significance (P<0.05).After the performance management program, the doctors′and patients′satisfaction scores increased compared with those before the implementation, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of performance management can mobilize the enthusiasm of the staff of the department, and it also has obvious effects in improving the quality of work in the department and increasing the satisfaction from both doctors and patients, hence promoting the further development of the department.
