ObjectiveTo observe the effect of oral administration of traditional Chinese medicine combined with external application of traditional Chinese herbal fumigation treating hypertensive nephropathy.Methods78 patients with definite diagnosis of hypertension-induced renal injury were divided into the treatment group (n=42)and control group(n=36)according to the different therapeutic method. In the control group,no other treatment except antihypertension was used, while the treatment group was given antihypertension, oral administration of nourishing yin, tonifying kidney, and removing blood stasis drugs, and traditional Chinese herbal fumigation. The therapeutic effect was compared between the two groups.ResultsAfter treatment, score of symptoms in traditional Chinese medicine were both improved in the two groups, and the treatment group was better than of the control group (P<0.05).Urinary microprotein and NAG enzyme, and serum cystatin C(Cys-C)were all decreased, and the treatment group was better than of the control group(P<0.05).The level of serum C-reactive protein (CRP)and endothelin (ET)were both decreased after therapies compared with those before treatment, and there was a statistical difference of the above-mentioned indexes after treatment between the two groups(P<0.05).ConclusionNourishing yin, tonifying kidney, and removing blood stasis therapy combined with traditional Chinese herbal fumigation can improve TCM symptoms in patients with hypertension-induced renal injury, decrease urine protein and better renal injury. Its mechanism may be associated with ET improvement and inflammatory reaction reduction.
