Abstract:ObjectiveTo determine the influence of neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NACT)on the expression of CD40 in ovarian cancer,and further infer whether the CD40 molecule can be used as a biological marker to predict the chemosensitivity of ovarian cancer by examining the expression of CD40 in ovarian cancer tissue.MethodsEighty patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer treated in our hospital from December 2015 to December 2017 were selected and they were classified into group A (n=30)given NACT and group B (n=50)without NACT according to whether they performed neoadjuvant chemotherapy before surgery or not.The corresponding paraffin sections of ovarian cancer tissues were 30 and 50 respectively.Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of CD40 in two groups of ovarian cancer tissue.ResultsThe total effective rate of chemotherapy in group A (80.00%)was significantly higher than that of group B (58.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The positive expression rate of CD40 in group A(56.67%)was lower than that of group B(80.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The positive expression rate of CD40 in chemo effective patients (45.83%)was significantly lower than that in chemo ineffective patients(100.00%)of group A,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The expression of CD40 in advanced ovarian cancer was positively correlated with Ki-67 (r=0.539,P=0.000).ConclusionThe expression of CD40 was significantly different between NACT and NACT of advanced ovarian cancer.CD40 can be used as a biomarker for predicting the sensitivity of NACT,and it helps to guide the application of NACT in advanced ovarian cancer.
