Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of the inhaled hypertonic saline on children with pertussis-like syndrome. Methods 96 patients diagnosed as having pertussis-like syndrome and treated in our hospital from February 2012 to October 2015 were collected into this study, who were randomly divided into observation group(treated with hypertonie saline inhalation,n=48)and control group (treated with normal saline inhalation,n=48),the basic treatment of two groups were same. The time of the clinical symptoms and pulmonary physical signs, the hospitalization time, the hospitalization cost and the total effective rate were compared. Results In the observation group, the time of the clinical symptoms, the time of the pulmonary physical signs, the hospitalization time, the hospitalization cost and the total effective rate was(6.35±1.31)days,(4.31±1.17)days,(6.85±1.47)days,(3127.23±330.49)yuan and 95.8%respectively,while in the control group was(7.27±1.30)days,(5.10±1.52)days,(8.27±1.32)days,(3479.50±273.09)yuan and 81.3%,the differences between two groups were significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Using the inhalated hypertonic saline to treat children pertussis-like syndrome is effective, safety and economical.
