Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of different anesthesia method on postoperative cognitive function of elderly patients with non cardiac surgery. Methods 100 non cardiac surgery patients from March 2013 to December 2015 of our hospital were selected as study object by using random number table and the clinical treatment data were analyzed retrospectively.50 cases who accepted general anesthesia were selected as control group, and 50 cases who accepted epidural anesthesia combined with general anesthesia were selected as experimental group.Postoperative cognitive function of patients in two groups were observed and compared. Results The postoperative cognitive function of patients in experimental group was obvious higher than that of control group[(23.4±1.5)scores vs(21.6±1.4)scores]and the incidence rate of cognitive dysfunction was obvious lower than that of control group. These differences between two groups had statistical significance(P<0.05). Conclusion Using epidural anesthesia combined with general anesthesia can improve postoperative cognitive function obviously and is helpful to improve the life quality of patients. Therefore, this anesthesia method is worth to further popularize and using in clinic.
