Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of laparoscopic hernioplasty and open tension-free herniorrhaphy on treating adult inguinal hernia.Methods From September 2014 to December 2015，224 adult patientswith inguinal hernia admitted into our hospital were selected.Based on double blind method，they were divided into two groups.In control group，patientswere performed with open tension-free herniorrhaphy，while in observation group，laparoscopic hernioplasty was carried out.The therapeutic effect was observed and surgical indexes were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.55%，higher than that of the control group（87.50%），the difference was statistically significant（P＜0.05）.The amount of bleeding in the observation group was less than that in the control group，the hospitalization timewas shorter than that of the control group，the postoperative pain scorewas significantly lower than that of the control group，the difference was statistically significant（P＜0.05）.In the observation group，2 cases were occurred with injury of spermatic cord，and 3 caseswere complicated with postoperative hemorrhage，and the incidence of complications was 4.46%.In the control group，hydrops was in 5 cases，infection of incisional wound in 4 cases，and injury of spermatic cord in 5 cases，and the incidence of complications was 12.50%，which was displayed a statistical difference（P＜0.05）.Conclusion Application of laparoscopic hernioplasty on treating adult inguinal hernia not only has advantages of little amount of bleeding and mild pain after surgery，but also greatly decreases the incidence of complications aswell as shortens hospital stay，which isworthy of clinical promotion.
