Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of intensive health education on the nursing quality for maintenance hemodialysis patients(MHP).Methods Altogether 140 MHP who were treated in Department of Nephrology in our hospital from June 2015 to June 2016 were randomly divided into two groups according to the different methods of nursing, each group with 70 cases.Control group received routine nursing, while observation group were applied with intensive health education. The symptom control rate, incidence of adverse reactions, mastery of health knowledge and quality of life of two groups were compared. Results The blood pressure control rate, dialysis adequacy rate and blood phosphorus rate of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05). The indwelling catheter infection rate, fistula blockage rate and non-dialysis time emergency treatment rate and the incidence of hyperkalemia critical value of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The disease knowledge score, dietary knowledge score, drug knowledge score and self-care knowledge score of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05);SF-36(the MOS Item Short From Health Survey)scores of the observation group (including the physiological function, physiological role, body pain, general health, vitality, social functions, emotional function and mental health)was significantly better than that of the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Intensive health education plays a significant role in increasing the nursing quality for MHP,which can improve the symptom control rate and patients′quality of life, reduce the incidence of complications and enhance the mastery of health knowledge, improve the quality of life.
