Abstract：Chronic heart failure (CHF)is the ultimate outcome of many cardiovascular diseases,the major cause of death in most patients with cardiovascular disease is heart failure.How to reduce recurrence rate and fatality rate of CHF is the key point of the current study.By retrospective review of recent-year of related clinical literatures,the paper clarified the progress of modern prevention and treatment of CHF.After comparing western medicine treatment and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)therapy,it is found that individualized TCM constitution identification gradually reflects its unique advantages in improving quality of life and decreasing re-hospitalization rate of CHF.
