Clinical study and analysis of types of constitution of traditional Chinese medicine in adolescent girls suffering from dysmenorrhea

Abstract:Objective To analyze the relationship between constitution of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and morbidity of dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls.Methods From January 2015 to March 2016,120 patients with primary dysmenorrhea were visited in our hospital for treatment were selected.Another group of 120 non-dysmenorrhea participants for physical examinations in the same period was collected.The questionnaire was used to analyze the type of TCM constitution.Results The proportion of constitutions of qi deficiency,yang deficiency,stagnant blood,and qi depression in dysmenorrhea group was much higher than those in the healthy participants group(P<0.05).With the severity of dysmenorrhea aggravating,the incidence of the types of TCM constitution in qi deficiency,yang deficiency,stagnant blood, and qi depression was in a rising tendency.Conclusion For patients with primary dysmenorrhea,constitutions of qi deficiency,yang deficiency,stagnant blood and qi depression are the main types,which should be paid great attention to observe the prevention and treatment on the disease.
