Abstract:ObjectiveTo study the in vitro anti-tumor activity of di-lacunary Keggin-type tungstate K8[γ-SiW10O36]·12H2O (abbreviated form:KSiW10).MethodsThe inhibitory effect of KSiW10 on the growth of human hepatoma HepG2 cells,lung cancer A549 cells and breast cancer MCF-7 cells was studied by MTT (3-[4,5-dimethylthiazo-2-y]-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide)assay.The morphological change in HepG2,A549 and MCF-7 cells affected by different concentration of drugs was observed by optical microscopes.ResultsKSiW10could inhibit HepG2,A549 and MCF-7 cells proliferation,with IC50value of 9.8×10-5,3.6×10-4and 1.8×10-4mol/L,respectively,showing dose-dependent.The morphological changes in tumor cells showed shrinking of cells and round cells under an optical microscope after treating with different concentrations of KSiW10.ConclusionTungstate KSiW10has antitumor activity in vitro and can inhibit the proliferation of tumor cells.
