Abstract:Objective To explore the application of Mirena in patients after hysteroscopic endometrial polypectomy. Methods 72 patients acccepted hysteroscopic endometrial polypectomy in our hospital from January 2014 to January 2015 were selected, and divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method, with 36 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were given the oral administration of Megestrol Acetate Tablets after operation, while patients in the observation group were given the Mirena after operation. The patients′operation situation, the changes of endometrial thickness immediate and 6,12 months after operation of two groups measured by B-ultrasound and hysteroscopy and the recurrence rate of endometrial polyps after 1 year follow-up of two groups were compared. Results Patients in two groups were all successfully completed surgery and there was no statistically significant difference in the amount of bleeding and operation time between two groups(P>0.05);the thickness of endometrium 6 and 12 months after operation in the observation group was lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The recurrence rate of endometrial polyps after 1 year of follow-up in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01). Conclusion Mirena can effectively improve the comditional endometrial thickness and prevent the recurrence of polyps in patients with endometrial polyps after hysteroscopic resection.
