Abstract:ObjectiveTo study the effect of low dose glucocorticoid in relieving herpes zoster pain and swelling.Methods88 patients with erpes zoster pain and swelling from February 2015 to July 2016 were selected as study objects, and were divided into two groups according to random number table method. The general group was used general antiviral drugs, neurotrophic drugs and analgesic drugs. The study group was used low dose glucocorticoid on the basis of general group. The two groups were treated for 7 days. The total effective rate, pain disappearance time, swelling relife time, scabby time and blister cessation time of patients with erpes zoster pain and swelling in two groups were compared. Before and after treatment, pain score, differences in scores of life quality and incidence rate of complications in two groups were compared.ResultsThe total effective rate of pain and swelling in study group was higher than that in general group(P<0.05).All of pain disappearance time, swelling relife time, scabby time and blister cessation time in study group were less than those in general group(P<0.01);After treatment, the study group had more improvement in pain score and quality of life score(P<0.05).1 patient with pruritus and 1 patient with vomiting in study group,1 patient with vomiting in general group, and no serious complications were found in two groups.ConclusionLow dose glucocorticoid on pain and swelling of herpes zoster has exact effect, which can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients, promote pain and swelling disappear, accelerate wound scab, shorten the time of blister, with high safety. It is significant to improve the life quality of patients and worthy of popularization and application.
