Abstract:
ObjectiveTo investigate the correlation between serum C-reactive protein(CRP)and hematoma enlargement at early stage(EHG)of cerebral hemorrhage in basal ganglia region.MethodsThe clinical data of 112 patients with intracerebral hemorrhage in basal ganglia region from January 2010 to June 2017 in Affiliated Hongqi Hospital of Mudanjiang Medical University were continuously collected and analyzed.According to the changes of hematoma volume within 48 hours after admission, the patients were divided into the stable hematoma group(n=81)and the hematoma enlargement group (n=31).The hematoma enlargement group was the patients with absolute increase in hematoma volume>12.5 ml or relative hematoma growth rate>33%within 48 hours after admission. The stable hematoma group was the patients with absolute increase in hematoma volume≤12.5 ml or relative hematoma growth rate≤33%within 48 hours after admission. The baseline data between the stable hematoma group and the enlargement group were compared.Logistic regression model was used to analyze the correlation between CRP level and hematoma enlargement of cerebral hemorrhage in basal ganglia region.ResultsAmong the included 112 patients with intracerebral hemorrhage in basal ganglia region,EHG occurred in 31 cases (27.6%),and 81 cases (72.4%)had stable hematoma volume. The stable hematoma group and the enlargement group were compared, and the level of CRP was[(7.1±4.7)mg/L vs.(13.0±5.3)mg/L,P<0.001].The difference was statistically significant.Logistic regression model analysis suggested that CRP(OR=2.98,95%CI=1.591-5.583,P=0.001)was an independent risk factor for EHG of cerebral hemorrhage in basal ganglia region.ConclusionSerum CRP is an independent risk factor for EHG of cerebral hemorrhage in basal ganglia region.
