Abstract：Objective To explore the diagnostic value of digital X-ray dental film and CBCT for longitudinal root fracture. Methods Retroretrospective analysis of 45 patients suspected with longitudinal root fracture admitted to the Department of Medical Imaging，Affiliated People′s Hospital of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2018 to May 2018 to June 2019. All patients underwent digital X-ray dental film and CBCT examination respectively，and the pathological examination findings were used as the gold standard. The inspection results，sensitivity，specificity，accuracy，positive predictive values，and negative predictive values of the two test methods were compared.Results Pathological examination showed that 38 cases had longitudinal root fracture and 7 cases were non-dental root fracture. The sensitivity，specificity，accuracy，positive predictive value and negative predictive value of CBCT examination were higher than digital X-ray dental film examination，and the differences were statistical significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion CBCT was used to examine the longitudinal root fracture，with strong sensitivity，specificity and accuracy，and higher diagnostic value than digital X-ray dental film，which deserves extensive promotion and application.
