Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of laser peripheral iridectomy in the treatment of primary angleclosure glaucoma. Methods A total of 112 patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma who were admitted to Liaoyang Central Hospital from April 2018 to October 2019 were selected as the research objects and divided into the control group (42 cases) and the observation group (70 cases) by the random coin toss method. The control group was treated by traditional medical, and the observation group was treated by laser peripheral iridectomy on the basis of the control group. The best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and intraocular pressure were compared between the two groups before treatment and 1 and 5 months after treatment. Results There were no statistically significant differences in BCVA of observation group (0.39±0.15,0.47±0.15) and control group (0.41±0.15,0.45±0.15) before and 1 month after treatment (P>0.05).The BCVA at 5 months after treatment (0.54±0.17) was higher than that in the control group (0.48±0.13),and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).5 months after treatment, the intraocular pressure of the observation group ([17.26±0.65]mmHg) was lower than that of the control group ([21.05±2.01]mmHg),and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Laser peripheral iridectomy has high clinical value in the treatment of primary angle-closure glaucoma, and can effectively improve the patients′ vision and intraocular pressure.
