Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical effect of binocular external straightening machine recession combined with binocular visual perception training in the treatment of intermittent exotropia in children. Methods A total of 60 children with intermittent exotropia admitted to Longyan Second Hospital from April 2019 to June 2020 were retrospectively selected as the research objects, and divided into control group (30 cases, 30 eyes) and observation group (30 cases,30 eyes) according to treatment methods. The control group was treated with recession of external rectus muscle of both eyes, the observation group was treated with binocular external rectus recession combined with binocular visual perception training.Binocular visual function and recurrence rate of 1 year follow-up were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the proportion of children with normal visual function indexes between the two groups (P>0.05).After treatment, the proportion of normal visual function indexes in the two groups was higher than before treatment, and the proportion of normal visual function in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The recurrence rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group after 6 months and 1 year follow-up (P<0.05).Conclusion The binocular external straightening machine recession combined with binocular visual perception training can be used to treat intermittent exotropia in children, which can further improve the therapeutic effect, improve binocular visual function of children ideally, and reduce the rate of disease recurrence.
