Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV)in the treatment of severe bronchial asthma in children. Methods A total of 83 children with severe bronchial asthma treated in the Department of Pediatrics of Xinyu People′s Hospital from January 2017 to September 2020 were selected as research objects and divided into the control group(41 cases)and the treatment group(42 cases)according to the random number table method. The control group received conventional treatment, and the treatment group was given noninvasive positive pressure ventilation on this basis. The children in both groups were observed for 24 h.The clinical efficacy and arterial blood gas changes at different time period before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The total clinical effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the levels of partial pressure of oxygen(PO2),partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PCO2)and blood oxygen saturation (SaO2)between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).At 4,8 and 24 h after treatment, the levels of PO2and SaO2in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the levels of PO2and SaO2in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group, the levels of PCO2in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the level of PCO2in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion NIPPV can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of children with severe bronchial asthma, improve their respiratory function, reduce the diseases′damage to the children′s body, and have a positive impact on the children′s recovery.
