Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of acupuncture combined with acupoint injection in the treatment of foot varus after stroke. Methods A total of 84 patients with foot varus after stroke admitted to the First People′s Hospital of Fuzhou from August 2018 to August 2020 were selected as the research objective, and divided into the control group (42 patients) and the observation group (42 patients) according to the random number table method. The control group were treated with acupuncture, and the observation group were treated with acupuncture combined with acupoint injection. The clinical efficacy, motor function (Fugl-Meyer motor function scale for lower extremity[FMA-L], modified Ashworth scale [MAS] and Berg balance scale [BBS]), living ability [modified Barthel index (MBI)]and quality of life (short form 36-item health survey [SF-36]) were compared between the two groups. Results The total clinical effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in the scores of FMA-L, MAS,BBS, MBI and SF-36 between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the scores of FMA-L, BBS, MBI and SF-36 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the MAS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of acupuncture combined with acupoint injection can improve motor function, daily living ability, and quality of life in patients with foot varus after stroke, which benefits the prognosis.
