Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Methylprednisolone combined with Aspirin on children with Kawasaki diseases and the influence on children′s serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP). Methods From May 2016 to May 2020, 80 children with Kawasaki diseases admitted to the Department of Pediatric Internal Medicine of Donggang Central Hospital were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into two groups by computer random number method, each with 40 cases. The children in the control group were treated with Aspirin, and the children in the observation group were treated with Methylprednisolone and Aspirin. The clinical symptom improvement time, hospital stay and coronary artery injury were compared between the two groups. The serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), hs-CRP and BNP before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results In the observation group, the subsidence time of mucosal congestion, hand and foot swelling, neck lymph node enlargement, fever abatement time, rash resolution time and hospital stay time were shorter than those in the control group, with statistical significances (P<0.05). After 3 months of follow-up, the incidence of coronary artery injury in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there were no significant differences in serum TNF-α, IL-6, hs-CRP and BNP between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of TNF-α, IL-6, hs-CRP and BNP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistical significances (P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of Methylprednisolone and Aspirin in children with Kawasaki diseases can facilitate improvement of symptoms, reduce coronary artery damage, shorten hospital stay, and greatly improve serum levels of TNF-α, IL-6, hs-CRP, and BNP, which is worthy of application.
