Abstract:Objective To evaluate the role of post-abortion contraceptive counseling service and follow-up system after artificial abortion in the implementation of contraceptive measures and the reduction of re-abortion.Methods A total of 330 cases who had artificial abortion in the outpatient department of our hospital From January 2015 to December 2016 were selected as study objects.They were provided with post-abortion contraceptive counseling service and follow-up at 1 month,3 months,6 months and 12 months after abortion.The implementation of contraceptive measures and reabortion were investigated.Results A total of 330 subjects had a low understanding of contraceptive knowledge,and 231 cases did not take contraceptive measures,contraceptive failure was in 99 cases.After abortion contraceptive counseling services and follow-up,the rate of using contraceptives was high.The 12thmonth follow-up Results showed that intrauterine contraceptive devices was used in 169 cases,subcutaneous implantations was used in 12 cases,oral contraceptives was used in 10 cases,condoms was used in 65 cases,other contraceptives or non-contraceptive was used in 41 cases,31 cases of re-abortion,and 39 cases of total loss of follow-up.Conclusion Carrying out post-abortion contraceptive counseling service and follow-up system after abortion can promote implementation of contraceptive measures,and ultimately reduce the risk of re-abortion.
