Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of calcium hydroxide paste in the treatment of children with periapical periodontitis. Methods All of 150 children with periapical periodontitis admitted to Yingde People′s Hospital from June 2016 to June 2018 were selected as study subjects and they were divided into the study group and reference group according to the random number table method, with 75 cases in each group. The reference group was treated with Camphor Phenol, while the study group was treated with Calcium Hydroxide Paste. The clinical efficacy, the pain grade and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was 94.67%,which was significantly higher than that of the reference group(78.67%)(P<0.05).The pain grade of the study group was significantly better than that of the reference group(P<0.05).In the study group, there was 1 case of periapical tissue inflammation,1 case of nausea and vomiting, and 1 case of skin itching, while in the reference group, there were 8 cases of periapical tissue inflammation,2 cases of nausea and vomiting, and 1 case of diarrhea. The total incidence of adverse reactions in the study group(4.00%)was significantly lower than that in the reference group(14.67%)(P<0.05).Conclusion Calcium hydroxide paste treating children with periapical periodontitis is exact and it can effectively improve the clinical therapeutic effect, significantly reduce the pain of illed children, significantly reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, and has a higher safety.
