Effect comparison of polymer resin restoration and porcelain inlay restoration combined with root canal therapy in the treatment of posterior tooth defects

Abstract：Objective To observe and compare the effects of polymer resin restoration and porcelain inlay restoration combined with root canal therapy in the treatment of posterior tooth defects.Methods From April 2014 to April 2015,100 patients with posterior teeth defect were divided into group A and group B according to random number table method,50 patients in each group.Patients in group A were treated with polymer resin restoration combined with root canal therapy,while patients in group B were treated with polymer porcelain inlay restoration combined with root canal therapy.After the treatment,the patients were followed up for 3 years,the efficiency,adverse reactions and the satisfaction of the two groups were compared.Results The effective rate in group B was significantly higher than in group A,difference between the two groups had statistical significance (P＜0.05).The total adverse reaction rate in group B was significantly lower than in group A,difference between the two groups had statistical significance(P＜0.05).The total satisfaction rate of group B was significantly higher than group A,difference between the two groups had statistical significance(P＜0.05).Conclusion Polymer porcelain inlay combined with root canal therapy for tooth defect is effective and has less adverse reactions,higher satisfaction.It is suggested that it should be popularized in clinic.
