Abstract：Objective To explore the application effect of “patient self reinforcement program” based on motivational interview management in patients with 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods A total of 225 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in our hospital from January 2017 to January 2018 were selected and divided into the experimental group (117 cases) and the control group (108 cases) according to the random digital table methods.The traditional health education was adopted in the control group, and the experimental group adopted motivational interview management as the basis to formulate “patient self-improvement plan”.The scores of problem area in diabetes scale (PAID) and general self-efficacy scale (GSES) before and after intervention were compared between the two groups.Results There was no significant difference in the PAID and GSES scores between the two groups before intervention (P＞0.05).After intervention,the scores of PAID in the two groups were all lower than those before intervention, with significant difference (P＜0.05).The PAID score in the experimental group after intervention was lower than that in the control group, with significant difference (P＜0.05).After intervention, the score of GSES in the two groups was higher than that before intervention,and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).The GSES score of the experimental group after intervention was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion Based on motivational interviews, health education on diabetes mellitus and the establishment of “patient selfimprovement plan” can effectively improve patients′selfefficacy and improve the problems in the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
