Abstract:Objective To understand the detection results of the prevalence of metabolic syndromes(MS)and related factors of 18-69-year-old residents in Shenzhen Baoan District so as to provide a scientific basis for the formulation of effective prevention and control measures for MS.Methods A total of 1276 permanent residents in Baoan District were selectedbythe probability proportionate to size(PPS)sampling method to participate in the questionnaire survey, physical examination and blood biochemical index determination in 2015.The MS status of the different characteristic population was calculated, and the related factors were analyzed by using the unconditional Logistic regression model. Results A total of 1196 valid questionnaires were obtained, whose results showed that the detection rate of MS in residents aged 18 to 69 in Baoan District was13.98%,and the low high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) detection rate was the highest among the MS components..The results of Logistic regression model showed that female, older age, higher waist circumference, higher systolic blood pressure(SBP),higher diastolic blood pressure(DBP),higher fasting plasma glucose(FPG),higher triglycerides(TG)were the risk factors for MS.The higher HDL-C was the protective factor for MS.Conclusion The detection rate of MS among residents in Shenzhen Baoan District is relatively high. The screening system for high-risk groups should be established and implemented to customize the MS prevention and control measures for women and olderpeople, which can effectively prevent the occurrence of metabolic diseases and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
