Study on comorbidity of Methamphetamine dependence and other mental disorders and related factors

Abstract:Objective To explore the comorbidity of Methamphetamine dependence and other mental disorders and the influence of related factors.Methods A total of 157 subjects with comorbidity Methamphetamine dependence and other mental disorders who were entrusted with psychiatric expertise were collected from Nanfeng Enforced Isolation DetoxificationInstituteofGuangdongProvinceandFamaleEnforcedIsolationDetoxificationInstituteHospitalofGuangdong Province from April 2016 to December 2017 were divided into male group(96 cases)and female group(61 cases).General information questionnaire and drug related factor questionnaire were made,all patients were investigated by DSM-Ⅳ-TR axisⅠ obstacle setting clinical examination version (DSM-Ⅳ-TR,SCID-Ⅰ).Results Male with methamphetamine dependence and other mental disorders were less educated,more unemployed,less annual income,and more detoxification times(P<0.05).The positive family history of drug use was more common(P<0.05),and higher incidence with comorbid manic episodes(P<0.05).In female group,the incidence with comorbidity depression and anxiety was higher than that in male group (P<0.05).Improper income was the main source of drug use in male group,as well as earned income in female group (P<0.05).For the first time,the main reason for drug use was the pursuit of stimulation in male group,as well as to release negative emotions in female group (P<0.05).Conclusion Comorbidity methamphetamine dependence and other mental disorders show differences between genders.Male methamphetamine dependent patients are more likely to relapse than that in female.Relapse prevention should attach importance to be the comorbidity problem.
