Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the value of serum procalcitonin(PCT)and C-reaction protein(CRP)in assessment of severity and prognosis of diabetic foot infection.Methods165 cases with diabetic foot infection treated in our hospital from January 2015 to January 2017 were selected as objects, and all patients were divided into the mild infection group with 45 cases, the moderate infection group with 93 cases, and the severe infection group with 27 cases according to the severity of the infection, the enrolled patients were divided into cured group(n=63),the improved group(n=78),and the ineffective group(n=23)according to the curative effect of diabetic foot. The level of PCT and CRP were determined in various group.ResultsThe level of PCT and CRP in the mild group were lower than those in the moderate group and the severe group(P<0.05).The level of PCT and CRP in the moderate group were lower than those in the severe group(P<0.05).The level of PCT and CRP of the three groups were remarkably lower after treatment than before treatment(P<0.05).The level of PCT and CRP in the cured group were lower than those in the improved group and the ineffective group after the treatment(P<0.05).The level of PCT and CRP in the improved group were lower than those in the ineffective group (P<0.05).ConclusionSerum PCT and CRP have certain clinical value in assessment of severity and prognosis of diabetic foot infection.
