Investigation and study on knowledge,attitude and practice of traditional Chinese medicine nursing in Xintai Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Abstract:Objective To investigate and analyze the knowledge,attitude and practice of traditional Chinese medicine nursing among nurses in Xintai City.Methods In December 2017,134 caregivers from Xintai Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were randomly selected for analysis of the current state of knowledge and performance survey of traditional Chinese medicine nursing using a questionnaire survey.Results Among 134 nurses,5(3.7%)were male nurses and 129(96.3%)were female nurses;60(44.8%)were ≤30 years,70(52.2%)were >30-40 years,and 4(3.0%)were>40-50 years.Years of working: 46(34.3%)were 0-5 years,69(51.5%)were >5-10 years,and 19(14.2%)were >10 years.Education: 26(19.4%)were specialist,108(80.6%)were undergraduate and above.Job title: 33(24.06%),primary carer 62(46.3%),head carer and above 39(29.1%).The nurses scored(15.22±2.40)in traditional chinese medicine nursing knowledge,(32.30±4.16)points in attitude and belief,and(32.86±17.74)points in behavior.Nurses aged >30-40 years had higher traditional Chinese medicine nursing knowledge scores than nurses of other ages,nurses with working years >10 years had higher scores than nurses of other ages,nurses with undergraduate and above qualifications had higher scores than specialist nurses,nurses in charge and above job titles had higher scores than nurses of other job titles,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Female nurses had higher scores for attitude and belief of traditional Chinese medicine nursing than male nurses,nurses aged >30-40 years had higher scores than other nurses of all ages,nurses aged >10 years had higher scores than other nurses of all years,nurses of undergraduate and above had higher scores than specialist nurses,supervisor nurse and above had higher scores than nurses of other job titles,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in scores of traditional Chinese medicine nursing behaviors between nurses of different genders,ages,job years,academic qualifications,and job titles(P>0.05).Conclusion Nurses have a high degree of Knowledge,attitude and practice in traditional Chinese medicine nursing,and there is great room for improvement in traditional Chinese medicine nursing practice.The hospital should increase the training of traditional chinese medicine nursing talents to meet the needs of social development.
