Study on the application value of carotid artery ultrasound in screening high-risk population of stroke

Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical value of carotid artery ultrasound in screening high-risk population of stroke.Methods From August 2018 to June 2020,360 residents were selected for investigation in Leping City,Jiangxi Province,and the residents surveyed were all over 40 years old.According to 8+2 stroke risk factors,the respondents were divided into healthy group,low-risk group,intermediate-risk group and high-risk group,with 90 cases in each group.The basic living habits and plaque detection rate of residents were investigated.The color Doppler ultrasound detection instrument was used for carotid artery ultrasound detection,and the clinical application value of carotid artery ultrasound detection was analyzed.Results There were 102 cases of neck vascular plaque formation in 360 subjects,with a total detection rate of 28.33%;a total of 101 cases of media thickening were detected,with a total detection rate of 28.06%.The detection rates of neck vascular plaque and media thickening in the high-risk group were higher than those in the intermediate-risk group,low-risk group,and healthy group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The detection rates of neck vascular plaque and media thickening in the intermediate-risk group were higher than those in the low-risk group and healthy group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The detection rates of neck vascular plaque and media thickening in the low-risk group were higher than those in the healthy group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total detection rates of single and multiple plaques in the high-risk group were higher than those in the intermediate-risk group,low-risk group and healthy group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total detection rates of single and multiple plaques in the intermediate-risk group were higher than those in the low-risk group and healthy group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total detection rates of single and multiple plaques in the low-risk group were higher than those in the healthy group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of carotid artery ultrasound detection in screening high-risk population of stroke can effectively distinguish high-,medium-,and low-risk stroke populations,and clarify the thickening of the media and the nature of plaque,which provides rich imaging data for clinical interventions.
