Objective To explore application value of implementing special comprehensive nursing intervention for patients with macular degeneration.Methods From January 2018 to March 2020, 100 patients with macular degeneration admitted to Fuzhou First People′s Hospital, Jiangxi Province were selected as research subjects.They were divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method, 50 cases in each group.There were 152 affected eyes in total, 76 eyes in each group.In the control group, patients were implemented with conventional nursing, and in the observation group, special comprehensive nursing intervention was used.The anxiety situation, quality of life score, sleep quality, and complications of patients in the two groups were compared.Results The anxiety self-rating scale (SAS) scores of the two groups before the intervention, the difference had no statistical significance (P>0.05).The SAS scores of the two groups after intervention were lower than those before the intervention, the SAS score in the observation group was lower than that of the control group, with statistical differences (P<0.05).The scores of physical function, social function, emotional role, and mental health in the two groups before the intervention,the differences had no statistical significance (P>0.05).After the intervention, the scores of physical function, social function, emotional role, and mental health in the two groups were higher than those before the intervention, the scores of physical function, social function, emotional role, and mental health in the observation group were higher than those of the control group, with statistical differences (P<0.05).After the intervention, the scores of sleep quality, time to fall asleep, sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disorders, hypnotic drugs, and daytime dysfunction in the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with statistical differences (P<0.05).After the intervention, the total incidence of complications in the observation group was 12.00%, lower than that in the control group accounting for 42.00%, with statistical difference (P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of special comprehensive nursing intervention for patients with macular degeneration has an important effect.It can decrease the anxiety score of patients, improve the quality of life, improve the sleep quality, and reduce the incidence of complications, which is worthy of widespread clinical application.
