Abstract:ObjectiveTo analyze the clinical effect of different sucking material on relieving neonatal venipuncture pain.MethodsFrom January 2016 to January 2017,150 preterm infants treated in our hospital were divided into three groups based on different sucking material, and there were 50 cases in each group. In group A,non-nutritive sucking was selected, while in group B,liquid milk sucking by cotton swab was chosen,in group C,water with glucose sucking by cotton swab was applied.Tshe intravenous pain relief effect among three groups was compared.ResultsIn the group A,5 minute after puncturation, the heart rate, oxygen saturation,PIPP score, and NIPS score was(168±2)times per minute,(75.6±0.7)%,(6.28±1.16)points,and(2.01±0.41)points respectively, while in group B,after 5-minute puncturation,it was(154±3)times per minute,(86.2±0.7)%,(3.15±1.05)points,and(0.85±0.12)points and in group C respectively,it was(152±3)times per minute,(86.8±0.7)%,(3.08±1.02)points,and(0.88±0.13)points respectively. The success rate of puncturation and the rate of crying on puncturation in group A was 76%and 28%respectively,and it was 96%and 10%in the group B respectively, and 96%and 8%in the group C respectively, which were displayed statistical difference after comparison between group A and group B and group C(P<0.05).There was no great difference in indexes in group B and group C(P>0.05).ConclusionCompared with the non-nutritive sucking, liquid milk or water with glucose sucking by cotton swab in premature infants can alleviate their pain during intravenous puncturation, and its clinical value is high.
