Abstract:Objective To study the effect of Montelukast Sodium on the levels of inflammation-related indicators in children with recurrent respiratory infection. Methods Eighty children with recurrent respiratory infection admitted to our hospital from September 2017 to July 2018 were enrolled. All children included in the study were divided into control group and experimental group according to the random number table method. The children in the control group were treated with conventional comprehensive treatment, and the children in the experimental group were treated with Montelukast Sodium on the basis of the control group. The levels of immunological indicators (immunoglobulin-A [IgA],immunoglobulin-E [IgE], immunoglobulin-G [IgG]), leukocytes (neutrophils, eosinophils, lymphocytes and mononuclear macrophages), indicators of inflammation (interleukin-2 [IL-2], interferon-γ [IFN-γ], interleukin-4 [IL-4], interleukin-5 [IL-5] and interferon-α [IFN-α]) and total effective rate of treatment were compared between the two groups. Results After 2 months of treatment, the levels of IgA and IgG in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, the IgE level was lower than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of neutrophils and eosinophils in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, the levels of lymphocytes and mononuclear macrophages were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The levels of IL-2 and IFN-γ in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, the levels of IL-4, IL-5 and IFN-α were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The total effective rate of treatment in the experimental group was 87.50%, which was higher than 67.50% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The application of Montelukast Sodium in the treatment of children with recurrent respiratory infection can improve the total effective rate of clinical treatment and improve the clinical indicators of inflammation in children. It is worthy of clinical application.
