Analysis of influencing factors of erectile dysfunction in male work injury patients in the Pearl River Delta

Abstract:Objective To analyze the influencing factors of erectile dysfunction(ED)in male work injury patients in the Pearl River Delta.Methods A total of 430 male work injury patients were investigated,who had been hospitalized for more than three months in nine industrial injury rehabilitation hospitals in the Pearl River Delta from January to December 2016.The age,education level,disease course,disease type and other research indicators of patients were collected through medical records,and the erectile function in the past 3 months was evaluated by the erectile function international questionnaire.The recovery rate of the questionnaire was 95.6%,and the number of valid cases was 411 cases.About 75.2%of patients had varying degrees of ED.According to whether there was ED,they were divided into ED group(n=309)and non-ED group(n=102).Results The age of the ED group was(41.1±8.7)years old,which was higher than that of the non-ED group for(37.8±7.7)years old,the proportion of rural population was 65.0%,which was higher than that of the non-ED group (53.9%),the proportion of spinal cord injury was 15.2%,which was significantly higher than 2.9%in non-ED group,culture with junior high school and below was 58.3%,which was significantly higher than 35.3%in non-ED group,depression and anxiety accounted for 74.8%and 66.0%,respectively,which was significantly higher than 31.4%and 25.5%in non-ED group,and the proportion of disease was 19.1%,which was significantly higher than 9.8%in the non-ED group,with the statistically significant differences (P<0.05).The spouse life satisfaction score of the ED group was(3.2±0.9)points,which was significantly higher than that of the non-ED group for (1.9±0.7)points,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that disease,depression,education level,age and spouse life satisfaction were influencing factors of ED (P<0.05).Conclusion The age,disease type,depression and husband-wife relationship are risk factors of ED,which should be paid enough attention.
