Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of situation-background-assessment-recommendation (SBAR)mode in nursing shift change in intensive care unit. Methods A total of 200 intensive care patients admitted to our hospital from April 2019 to September 2019 were selected as the research objects, and were divided into the control group (n=100) and the experimental group (n=100) according to the random number table method.Patients in the control group received traditional shift change, while in the experimental group, the SBAR mode was used. The incidence of adverse events in nursing, the rate of missed nursing shift change, the duration of shift change, scoring of nurses′ ability to master the disease condition, and total nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of nursing adverse events and missed shifts in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The duration of the nursing shift change in the experimental group was shorter than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The total satisfaction of the patients in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Reasonable application of the SBAR mode in nursing change shift in the intensive care unit can not only greatly decrease the incidence of nursing events, missed nursing shift change rate, and shorten the duration of shift change, but also can greatly increase the scores of nurses′ ability to master the disease condition and the patients′ satisfaction.
