Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Gamma Globulin as adjuvant treatment for severe adenoviral pneumonia (SAP) in children. Methods The clinical data of 150 inpatients with SAP admitted in our hospital from May 2013 to May 2018 were retrospectively analyzed, they were divided into the Gamma Globulin group (75 patients) and the control group (75 patients)based on whether or not gamma globulin was used during treatment. The Gamma Globulin group was treated with adjuvant Gamma Globulin, the control group was treated with conventional therapy. The treatment effect, fever time, hospital stay, mechanical ventilation time, total incidence of adverse reactions and mortality were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the Gamma Globulin group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The fever time, hospitalization time, and mechanical ventilation time of the Gamma Globulin group were shorter than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the total incidence and mortality of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Gamma Globulin adjuvant treatment of children SAP can improve the treatment effect of patients, shorten the fever time, hospitalization time and mechanical ventilation time of patients, without increasing the adverse reactions and mortality of the patients, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
