Abstract:Objective To observe the application effect of early intensive functional exercise in elderly patients after femoral intertrochanteric fracture surgery. Methods A total of 50 elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fractures treated in Orthopaedics Department of Yudu County People′s Hospital from April 2017 to September 2018 were selected as the research subjects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group (25 cases) and the observation group (25 cases). The control group received routine rehabilitation, and the observation group received early intensive functional exercise. The rehabilitation effect, hip function scale (Harris), daily living ability (Barthel index), visual analogue scale (VAS), and life quality (GQOL-74) scores before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of rehabilitation in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The Harris score of patients in the observation group after intervention was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The Barthel index score after intervention in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The life quality score of patients in the observation group after intervention was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The VAS score of patients in the observation group after intervention was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Early intensive functional exercise in the elderly after femoral intertrochanteric fracture can improve the rehabilitation effect of patients, promote functional recovery, reduce patients′ pain, improve their daily living ability and quality of life, with good effect, which is worthy of reference.
