Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of participatory training applied in training new nurses in ICU.Methods A total of 62 new nurses in ICU in June 2017 were assigned as the research object.According to the random digital table method, they were grouped into the experimental group (n=31)and the control group (n=31)to receive 32 separate hours of training. The experimental group took part in the participatory training which combined theory with practice by specific cases, while the control group were trained by the traditional approach. The standard of unified nursing quality control in Hubei Province and the questionnaire of inpatients′satisfaction with nursing service were used to compare the theoretical knowledge of medical care, nursing quality control and patients′satisfaction between the two groups of new nurses. Results The average scores of theoretical knowledge, quality control, and the satisfaction degree in participatory training group were higher than those of the traditional teaching group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Participatory training can improve the theoretical knowledge of medical care, nursing quality control and patients′satisfaction, and optimize the training of new nurses.
